As I write this, I am surrounded by the most immense beauty of the north woods and shoreline that dots the peninsula here next to Lake Michigan. Each moment of the soft breeze feels like a dream most days. The area of Door County has a very special energy to it, almost like a warm hug from a friend. So welcoming and joyful, this place holds the potential to expand virtually anyones heart.
I knew from a very young age coming here each summer, that one day I was supposed to live here in Door County. At the time all I knew is that it made me so incredibly happy to be in this space surrounded by nature and the lake. Little did I know at such a tender young age how much I would experience to be here now. Life definitely throws curve balls at times, and some are bigger hurdles than others. It all adds to the richness of life experiences and of course learned lessons along the way.
I am grateful my heart has whispered for me to live here. I am eager to create a community that can support one another, build solid foundations of change and foster a place of hope for those that otherwise had none. This beautiful area has been so special to me since my young childhood, and I know that you will feel that too.
When you look at opportunities that you could take in life, possible roads to travel—ask yourself, does this fill me with joy? Can I feel a sense of purpose behind it?
